a new layout this morning...some days I can sit and just look at the pile of pictures, scraps, pencils, etc. and produce nothing...others I can overflow with concepts, ideas, dreams....today's layout is about Ben & Clay...Ben's first and still best friend that moved from our street 1 year ago...all the way across the country...It was such a huge adjustment for him, and for Clay...the stuff that breaks a mom's heart...it makes me sad to look at the pictures and makes me miss my friends that have moved far away, just down the street...or, sadly, have gone to be with the Lord...I will miss you Kathy...your memory will remain in my heart and your incredible determination & resilient fight to the end will continue to be an inspiration to me and too many others.
I took a field trip to TT yesterday to get into my own zone on converting my pages to class kits...very exciting, yet overwhelming....it is like being a kid in a candy store...after 2 1/2 hours, I had to end my field trip so that I could let my mind rest before moving on to the next part of my day....real work...only 3.7 hours though! I have been getting so much, I guess you could call it "flack" for taking on another project with my announcement of teaching classes, but honestly, it is not "work" for me...and it is the way I clear my mind of other life situations...Why do I always feel like I have to justify myself to others????...maybe from now on, I wont! there..done! wont do it, nope, na-ah...sure. anyways, here is my first attempt at "scrap-lifting" it is lifted from page 34 of the January issue of Scrapbooks, Etc. if you have it, check it out and let me know what you think! I will add it to my layout page so you can see it up close! It is the best candid shot of my dad and his clone, Benjamin in Maui last summer at sunset. I love this picture and the page caption reads "It doesn't matter where you go, it is who is beside you that counts!"
okay, so after a bout of well, creative constap..and spending too much time just fiddling with embellishments & paper (i love paper)...this weekend, I have regained some momentum and have completed some new layouts. The page listed below is from Jack's 7th birthday...hmmm...yea, he is going to be 11 this year! Hey, if I were all caught up, there would be nothing for me to do...anyhow, it is a really great thing that we have off the day off today...Happy Birthday MLK...4 days until the Palm Springs CVSG (cielo vista scrappy girls) getaway....hope I continue to get well, and build up enough energy and sleep storage to pull a few all nighters! Have a great Monday... p.s. check the layout album for new pages
oh what a looonnngggg sick week...even too sick to scrap, but I am back on my feet and am so grateful....thank you to those who called to check up on me, and to Mrs. McDowell (best teacher on the globe) that not only called me from the grocery store at 7:37 pm, but showed up at my door the next morning with homemade soup & cornbread! What a blessed girl I am to have such a group of wonderful people surround me....so, I did get to scrappin....TT was my first step out of the house...ahhh...breath of fresh air....I felt kinda embarrassed though, as the girl at the register was new, and I piled up my stuff on the counter ( do I really need more stuff, yea, duh) anyways, I mentioned to her that I thought I got a discount (I am kinda-sorta-in-a-little-way-can I say it...employee...YIPPPPEEEE, anyways...I just get embarrassed with stuff like that....anyhow, came home, and after too many hours of searching all my favorite blogs, I did get some work done. p.s. Dena, thanks sooo much for the comment....I was excited to see that...when you get your blog up and running, I will tag you, you can tag me, and we can play blog like the big scrap girls..k?
wow, so I am sick..even too sick to blog...the sound of Diet Coke with extra ice did not even make me feel better...the fact that I woke up on Tuesday at 7:07 am confirmed that I was sick. My boys were the best kleenex getters, water filler-upers, channel channing, back rubbin helpers ever! I am so lucky that they are mine! I have been sleeping on the couch and Jack sleeps on the floor right beside his momma! whata boy! So, hopefully the submarine size antibiotics will kick into high gear today...I think they are beginning too because I am up and on the computer! Thank you for my comments! Laura- please post your e-mail so that I can give you the 411 on the bags....Dena, get moving on the blog and call me for help...I have SEVERAL hours of experience....Kelley - hope you can meet up in Palm Springs next week for a scrap-a-thon...that's all for now...I need to catch up on all the blogs I read and start thinking about attempting to get classes prepared for February at Timeless Treasures....pretty soon I will figure out how you can link to them for instant info (Dena, that is where YOU help Me)
by for now...it is time to take my cough medicine....
Good Morning....woke up thinking about my upcoming classes at Timeless Treasures (100 things that make me happy) , or maybe. . all the thinking woke me up...nevertheless, I got some good solid uninterrupted work done before the dog started to bark. Anyhow, take a look at the picture of the pages I have in mind for the first two classes (two pages per class)...please let me know what you think! I have not mastered this whole blog thing therefore, you will have to click on the image to get a closer look!
Happy Monday...Have a great day!
