Ya know what makes me crazy? I am sure you don't stay up late wondering, but I am going to share with you....I look at ALOT of blogs...and it makes me crazy. maybe even cranky, when they are not kept up, updated, whatever...not that I live for what others are doing, but just cuz I love to see what others are doing.....and now, I am one of those people...the type that drives me crazy....I have not posted, nor really even checked blogs in TWO WEEKS...and If you are like me, that gets crazy & cranky, I AM SO SORRY! I am going to get back to the swing of things...I have got to send Shawna Samples & her friend a goodie pack, finish up a Fiskar's Journal, Contact Jolly ol' England because now some lucky lady over there has TWO of my bags, and the lady who wanted on in the first place has none....Finish up Jack's Hippie costume, cuz, um, TOMORROW is Halloween...(by the way, my kids are not so happy with me because I got pencils to hand out as treats).....oh, and don't forget....Jingle Bell Boutique is THIS WEEKEND.......here at my little "Home Sweet Home...(it probably would help if GOD could arrange for a little harvesty-Fall like weather for this weekend....82 is not optimal "shopping, get in the mood for Christmas "weather) I bought Christmas gifts at Coscto this weekend.....okay, and the best for last.....
so, what did I want to be when I grew up? Don't really know, never really knew...tried lots of differant things though.....as a kid, I mowed lawns, cleaned neighbors houses, washed cars, was a candy stripper (NOT STRIPER!) babysat, played with Barbie, fashion plates, made crafts, brownies, girl scouts, art classes, dabbled in sports (not for me)elementary & high school were filled with more artistic things, I believe as a senior in high school, I had 0,1,2 period art, 1 Senior Studies, and was home by noon .....went directly onto college as a two-time (insert music here) "Beauty School Drop-Out" then took up "life drawing"...LOTS of naked body parts...(I drew triangles in those places"...dabbled in the ABC's of academics...and just could not find my place...just ended up working at really great companies, made good friends, got married, had babies, owned homes...and well, just did not find a comfortable spot of "what I SHOULD" be doing...dont get me wrond...The one thing I knew I wanted to be was a MOM...{X} check...and on the PTA {X} but still, after 37 years...still did not know "What I wanted to be when I grew up"....even Pastor Rick had a message on how most people are not doing what they love....until now...approx. 13,505 days after I was born...I found my place...I realized it yesterday in the early morning...a feeling of placement, a feeling of, this is what I want to do when I grow up...
more tomorrow....

What you can't leave us hanging...what are you going to be when you grow up?

DO WHAT YOU ARE is the title of a very helpful book, I read it, but well, I'm still looking for what I want to be. Vocation is a very important thing and I've realized a lot of friends are thinking about the same thing. I think we usually do things we don't like because in some way, we don't know ourselves. We should try to get to know ourselves better!!!
I have a communication degree, but I started 3 different careers. I teach in primary but I consider myslef an artist, I paint watercolors and I write, I'm also a mother, but I know I'm still searching... Thank you for posting this!!!

Stephanie,
Discovered your web site from Tim Holtz's blog.
You are such a positive inspiration!
I belong to a veteran's wives group that deals with their husbands with PTSD (post traumatic stress syndrom). We discuss how we deal with our individual situations.
I made everyone small purses out of cardstock to put in quotes that I find inspiring for all of us, so I will definitely use some of your quotes.
I will be visiting your site on a regular basis to be inspired on a weekly basis.
Your art is beautiful - keep it up!
I also have a disability, so I also look for people with positive outlooks.
My favorite quote is "The least broken help the ones that are more broken", which constantly changes.
Again thank you for the inspiration.
