I have lots to chit chat about....
Good Sunday Morning....another soggy So.Cal rainy day....you'd never know that last year, I think we got 2 inches of rain...the entire year.....now a days, we get that per hour...well, not quite...but you know what I mean.
I had SO MUCH FUN yesterday....I met lots of nice scrappy women ( and one man scrapper named Jim)...and some "names" in the scrapbook world....that all were there for one heart string pulling reason....ughh.....but nevertheless, I am growing to realize my LOVE for events. They are so inspiring, fun, refreshing....I love talking to people, who like me, LOVE CRAFTING.
Here are a few of my freckled friends hard at work, with Susie wearing the special Freckle Friends Amy Tangerine t-shirt....
and here are more happy Crafters
I get really giddy...totally dorky...but that is okay...people get to know me and my "trailer park, make something outta the basics"...style.
You know that I often refer to it as "Trailer Park Martha". Now, I have mentioned this before, but for my new readers, I feel that I should explain.
You see, first off...in no way am trying to de-face the name of Martha Stewart....I have always been an admirer of the concepts & ideas she offers (even stood in line for MANY hours to get an autograph).....and I, like her, have always considered myself a Girl MacGuyver....making something outta nothing....I can see through the filth of an old chair, to make it cozy, comfy & pretty...& I love to look past the crud and find the potential in something nothing...heck I can make a great little meal out of a 10cent pack of Top Ramen and whatever maybe in the fridge & cupboard.....therefore, I claim to have Trailer Park Style...NO OFFENSE TO THOSE WHO LIVE IN TRAILER PARKS...My Grandma lived in Space 99 and some of my best memories are from that double wide trailer!)
The thing is, I am not Martha Stewart. I do not have her bank account, her empire, or her Prison Record. You see, I am your more your average, everyday god-lovin girl...busy24/7 mom that over commits, volunteers, a daughter, a wife to THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, a mother of dirty xtreme lovin boys, a take out the trash, pick up the dog poop, neighbor, YOGA lover...and have an extreme LOVE for paper, batter & fabric....I embrace the "Trash to Treasure" concept, and I apply it to not only my crafty life, but to my everyday life....which, my friends....= Trailer Park Martha....
okay, now that we have got that out of the way...we shall continue....
I thrive and strive on making things that are already just around the house, yard...or heck, the trash...especially keeping the "Cheap & Easy" concept....then I embellish them with new stuff...so yesterday, during my make-n-take....I was reminded at how the world needs to be constantly reminded of The Simple Things...HEY.....THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE NEW NAME FOR THE UPCOMING HOMEGROWN HOSPITALITY ISSUE..DUH!!!!!" (p.s. yes...the name has been changed :0(
My make-n-take, (which by the way, will be the same for the CKMEDIA Make-n-Take next Tuesday at CHA from 2:00-3:00) consisted of paper bags, jute, string & crochet yarn, paper scraps...and homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies.....The concept is simple and the outcome is amazingly simple and cute...I am always surprised and refreshed at the "Ohhhhhhh" factor. and I love the way people respond to how cute it is and how happy they are when they leave the table....
okay, so on with the day....I was so excited to meet Leah Fung....It was like meeting a supa star....and I was so dorky...that I just could not ask to take a picture! and she invited Cheryl & I to a special BHG "event" at CHA!...me?...and then I spotted Candice Carpenter & Donna Salazar....I had to just force myself to jump off the high dive and go say hello (which then my total dork-y ness came out....ugghhh)...and I just shouted out, can I take a picture of you two...my word, people, I am shakin my head as I type this....You know, they are just people, like me, but I can only explain that if my kids saw Tony Hawk walking, I mean skating, down the street...well, that is the feeling I have...or even better...remember when I had to pick up ALI EDWARDS from the airport??????????? good Lord...
ok, so they agreed to a picture as long as I got in it...for the love of pete...so here we are...
and man, were we waving the Fiskateers Flag yesterday...It was like we were right back in San Antonio....I just love Fiskateers, ...we laughed ALOT and we laughed LOUD..Cheryl has more pictures that she is going to post...and we missed Michelle....she has a house FULL of sickness and could not make it, so between Elena & I...Michelle's, of course cute, make-n-take got done....
so fun...and I was invited yesterday, to teach at an upcoming WONDERFUL event, and so today, I am working on coming up with a class project....and there are still spots available...so come on and join is...for another great, yet unfortunate cause....
okay...this buzy bee has to buzz off....!!! Have a super day..see you tomorrow....

Hi Stephanie,
I am shaking my own head as I type this... I am the one who told Candice... we have to go over there and meet Stephanie! I felt like you might not give us the time of day... being that you are the "doodle-queen" and you have your own magazine! I love how this "hobby" attracts the people with the BIGGEST hearts! You were sweeter than sweet and I am so glad to have met you!
Hugs ~D~

I saw that the name of the magazine was changed. Will this mean that they will change the current web address to be the same as the new name or will we still be able to come to the same site? I am not technical so I hope this made sense. Thanks!
