well, yes, it is GOOD NEWS THURSDAY....
for my newer readers, I am one of three teachers that teaches a group of between 35-51 K-6th graders something called the GOOD NEWS CLUB....at our public school, every Thursday from 2:00-3:30. It is a Christian based bible study & I believe this is our 5th year!!! As I have admitted a 1,000 times before...GOD has provided & trusted me with the task to teach them all a bible verse each week. The problem is...every single week (for probably the past 4.75 years)...I have such a "ughhh...It is Thursday!" attitude, but that is me being honest....I do attendance, give them a sometimes healthy-usually not-snack, and keep them rounded up until we hit the multipurpose room for a circus like bible study...the thing is, these kids, and I love almost all of them...come...every single week....and that is what I have to remember...they are little stinky & cute GOD lovin sponges!!!
I have trillions of pictures, but I am not sure if I can show you, because I don't have the parental permission to do so (I need to do that next year...did I just commit to next year...of course I did!!!) but they are all little gems!!!!
so, onto the GOOD NEWS....I slept for 10.5 hours last night...primarily because I have not slept for the last 10.5 months/years...and I think I have a bit of a "bug"...oh bother!
so I missed American Idol, which I only watch about 0.3% of the time...but my pal Teresa has such a story about David R-chew-lett-ah, that I was really hoping that he was gonna win....slept through the whole thing, in fact, the last thing I remember was Ben saying at about 6:43, mom, "after Sponge Bob, I want to watch Drake & Josh"...they must have turned on American Idol at some point, because I dreamt that Ryan Seacrest was my boyfriend....and that the younger David won...
fast forward to this morning, when I really did not know who had won, the coffee timer did not work, there was laundry to be done...I was in a funk ...I tried to log on to the Internet and after no success, well, I really did not want to wait, I went straight to Teresa's blog...where, I came across some very terrible news that has just knocked me for a loop.
My "sleep/flu" bug, is now also a sad flu bug, and again, it just hits home with that awful "C" word....too much CANCER in this world...that word is one of the reasons I am headed to South Africa in October...that word has brought sadness to our family (and your families) too often...and unfortunatly, we have gotten to the point where it is too easy to say it is part of life...dang it!
so, please pray for Ginger and her family...pray hard, pray often...be a prayer warrior...I feel like I want to just yell DAMN it....so young...so ughhhh!!!!!
sorry for the bad word!
so pray often...coincidently, I made this little prayer journal for my friend Lain just two days ago...One of the most fun places to visit is the dang dollar bin, either at Target or Micheal's...don't care too much for Jo-ann's dollar bin, but the other two must have magnets that pull the little screws in my jaw towards them...and yes, again I was succumbed to the Micheal's Dollar Bin...
now, I LOVE MARY ENGLEBRIGHT....(& SUSAN BRANCH, for the record) so it has nothing, I repeat nothing, to do with her $1.00 products, and everything to do with the colors.................
so what started with a pile of my fav. scraps, some of my doodle stuff from MAMBI, some of my fav. Heidi Grace stuff...and a couple bucks...turned into a lovely little something....
and the fun news about this $1.00 stuff is that I did an entire article on the $1.00 bin that will be in the AUGUST issue of Home & Heart...
and speaking of Home & Heart...I am getting some questions about where to pick up this latest issue...
aka "The Cookie Issue"
well...you should be able to find it at your local
BARNES & NOBLE - but sources tell me that it may be in the HOME section of the magazine rack..so check there!
and at your local
BORDERS - but when I went in to "look for it"...it was in the BABY section????????? ( actually, it was the girl on the pink cover issue)
and at WAL-MART (someone even said TARGET, which I would LOVE to think was true, but I dont think so...)
and at your local scrapbook stores - although right now, my LSS, Timeless Treasures is out of it...(Nancy, are there more on the way?)
you should also be able to find it at Pavilions, Ralph's, and you can always order on-line here...

okay..I have gone on for tooo long...I need to get going, it is 7:16, my 12.5 year is still in bed, the 9 year old is catching up on re-runs of nickelodeon and school starts in less than an hour...and I am still in my jammies...
yikes...I really do have some kinda "bug"...oh bother!

yes, it is true, H&H has been spotted at Target. I did by an issue there and then bought the latest issue at our Local Grocery Store of all places. They had it way before Target and Walmart.

I bought my copy at Joann's. I have a question though- this morning- really just now- I made the chocolate chip cookies using the recipe in the mag but they did not turn out like the cookies in the picture. Just out of curiosity- are they the cookies from that recipe? I followed the recipe EXACTLY and the cookies I got never spread out (yes I used softened butter- the real stuff) and they are kind of dry- make that really dry. They don't taste bad and my husband will probably love them but they seem like they have way too much flour and not enough liquid/ butter. I will be curious too see what you think about this...........

I bought mine in Michaels. For some reason I also believe that I saw it in Target. I am sure I will be there again tomorrow so I will check and let you know. Thanks for the doodles yesterday :) You are so sweet!

I got mine at Barnes and Noble in the Scrapbook section. So sorry about the friend who has cancer, I'll pray for her. And I hope you feel better. I have a bug too, went to the Dr. yesterday and got antibiotics and a decongestant. I feel like Yuck....ready to get better that's for sure. Resp. infections in the summer are for the birds, you feel like you're smothering. Take care of yourself.

I got it (at my LSS)... I love the BBQ set and the fishing card! Fabulous!!
Take care of yourself. No one else can do it for you and these things have a way of getting away from us and turning into something much worse... Enjoy your holiday weekend!! (maybe taking a nap outside in a patch of sunlight (with suntan lotion on of course) would help! :) )
