an old metal thing with handles full of mini books to finish to take to Inspired (just noticed the measuring keys for the zutter in there, too!?, oh, and a bottle of glue, probably dried up because it has no lid, which is pretty common 'round these parts), glasses that I find myself wearing more and more, a doodle I doodled while Skyping with Teresa the other day, my Inspired sample, a roll of scotch tape that we can NEVER find when we need and..a sock (which is also VERY COMMON 'round these parts)

a small pile that is starting to slide because I keep adding things to it, like my new Sabrina Ward Harrison sketch book that I just got yesterday from the UPS man that I CAN NOT WAIT TO START DOODLING IN (who knows when I will, your guess is as good as mine!) I also see my Ipod charger trying to wiggle its way out and just a bunch of my favorite older papers that I use ALOT...

tonight's class at Timeless Treasures all packed up, ready to go and waiting patiently like a good class should.

well, it is NOT as packed as it was this time yesterday morning because I did manage to get two rather heavy boxes to the Post Office and shipped to North Carolina, PRAISE THE LORD....

BUT, I am still finishing up kitting the smaller parts of my classes, while creating a NEW CLASS that will be taught at Oh, Scrap in Costa Mesa on May 22 (but wait about 5 or so hours to call them, if you are local, because they don't have the info yet, and it is only 5:48 am and they are not even open till 10, duh) and,I am EXCITED to tell you that THIS WILL BE A KIT, ut um, KIT, yes, I said KIT....that will be offered a few ways, to my local friends and farther away friends....but like always,limited edition...so, if you are reading this RIGHT NOW, and want to be on the interest list

Here is a look, but then I have to go, because it is trash day and I told the Valentine I would get my mess out to the curb before the trucks come around and the sun is just coming up...or else you know I would stay here and blah blah blah to you a little more...

My Travel Journal is going with my to Maui in 107 or so days, not that I am counting, so that I can document as I travel....making another one to go with me to South Africa in October...

gotta go take out the trash!

Rick once again spoke right at me, well, and probably many others, but for some reason I felt and heard it loud and clear.

Probably about six years ago, my mom and I went to a Christian Women's Retreat and we were all asked to describe our lives at that moment.  I raised my hand and answered out loud to everyone that "I felt like I was in a rubber dingy, in a class five rapid, with a broken oar but that I had my life jacket on and that the life jacket was GOD"

fast forward to today...

Today Rick taught about how important it is to have Jesus in our boat because it is, simply put, "IMPOSSIBLE" to get anywhere without him.  The boat will go nowhere and the self description that I shared in a room of women several years ago came flooding back to me.

Looking back, personally, I have "Been there, Done that" and I am confident in saying, that with all of the saddness, sorrow, joy, happiness, despration and accomplishment, it all has happened for a reason.  I have taken the good the bad and the ugly & have learned from my situations.  That lifejacket is worn in and has become a part of me, and quite honestly, without it, I should have sunk, NO...I would have sunk, but I didn't.

Professionally, in my paper life, I have been in limbo for quite a while, probably since I lost my contract with CK, oh, like THREE YEARS ago when I became "unemployed" and then in turn, decided to be "Self Employed" even though I had no idea what I was going to do...although I knew it would be in the Creative Arts.  "Tough times make us stronger". (That should be another one of the tattoos' I should get.)

In all of my past situations, I have embraced "Change" even if it was REALLY REALLY REALLY hard.  I accepted it as a challenge and tried REALLY REALLY REALLY  hard not to view it as "defeat" because like I shared last week, there are "only 15 minutes" allowed to cry about it and then you have to get up.

I am luckyBLESSED that I have GOD and supportive parents, family & friends and a church to remind me that I have the passion & desire to do whatever it takes, whether it be baking cakes, setting at shop at the flea market, painting snowmen, cleaning houses, making things out of paper, etc. but because I am human, (duh!) and sometimes, I get hit with these "Is this what I am supposed to be doing" doubt-ish feelings and I have to put on my gloves with the good grips for another round of tug-o-war on what I should be doing with what people want me to be doing, mixed in with what feels right, what challenges me, what is obviously not working and what will eventually work.

My "Professional" Paper Career has definitely been a "rik-rak" Mr. Toads wild ride and I feel that it is going to be taking a BIG turn.

I can feel it....although I am not sure where it is turning, where it is headed and what I am going to do next..but just like FAITH, you cannot see it, you can only believe in it, feel it and know, that without a doubt, GOD is my Professional Paper Life Skipper" (he is in my boat) and he is prepping me for a change.
