By the time you read this I will:
A. be on my way to the airport
B. be at the the airport
C. be on a plane (1 of 3) on my way to Pennsylvania
D. be in Pennsylvania (not actually in that Red Barn below..but you know what I mean!)
When I pack my "carry on" I am always ready for pretty much anything (I think..at least, I HOPE!)
I am sooo ready to go (and not even HOMESICK anymore, that was last week!) I even packed my running shoes for some early morning PA runs down the tracks...(yes, the police have been advised that I am coming) and I am NOT kidding!
Anyways...I will be spending many an hour either in an airport or on a plane and because I am pretty sure that I have ADD (it's okay, I know!) I MUST be prepared for a cornucopia of things...so here is a look at what is in my bag besides the normal boarding pass, I.D, phone and leopard snuggie...
- A TON of markers...working on A LOT of new things... A LOT!!!!
- My "Choose Joy" workbook to create new doodles from...
- The Power of a Praying Wife book....soooo good!
- My big honkin bible because it is A. my companion and B. something to grip onto during take off and landing...and anytime in-between.
- 1/2 YARD of canvas that I have been "scrappling" on (details soon!!!)
- A new issue of "Cloth Paper Scissors" that I have been holding out on to look through after I hit the "Sky Mall" catalog!
- My "Windows of the Soul" book and pages of AWESOME notes that friend Cheryl created for us on a new amazing creative venture we are working together on (details also on this soon!!!!)
I probably will not blog while gone...just know that I will be soaking up the AMISH countryside...the Red Barns...the creativeness that we will be generating on Friday night and Saturday...and I will meet you back here on Monday!
Have a GREAT next few days...and do not forget to Choose Joy...regardless of your situation RIGHT NOW...no matter HOW BAD....Exhibit your FAITH by Choosing JOY
and
Laugh until you cry..Cry until you Laugh (THAT needs a doodle!)

Have a wonderful time...wish I was taking a class..I love the book Power of a Praying wife so amazing.

Stephanie, I want to thank you for sharing "The Brave Girls" and "Choose Joy" with us. I just signed up for both of them yesterday and I'm excited to begin my journey to a happier, healthier life. I have not been in a good place emotionally for a very long time and it has taken a toll on my physical body as well. I hate where I am, but I've done nothing about it for too long. I am ready to make some goals for myself and get myself back on the path the Lord has paved for me! And I want to thank YOU for helping me take the first step. You are a blessing, I hope you know that.
I hope you have an incredible time in PA. Be safe and have fun! BTW, how did you get the "Choose Joy" book? I looked all over her site and couldn't find it. I am a very visual person and would love to have that for my journey. This is funny... I have followed your blog for quite some time now (and I LOVE your doodles!!) A few days ago I saw the doodle you made about joy and I downloaded it for myself and a friend, not realizing who Kay Warren even was. {blush}. Then yesterday I followed the links you posted and signed up. Today I watched the first video and LOVED what Kay said about what true joy is. I went back in the video and play/paused it so that I could write it down and make some kind of print of it. Wow! Don't I feel the fool for not realizing sooner that that is exactly what you had already done for me! Haha! Thank you for spreading such encouragement! You truly are a blessing.

Your last line made me think of that part in Steel Magnolias when Dolly Partons character says "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion!" LOVE that line!
I love all the contents of your carry on! Cant wait to hear about your time in the Amish country side!
