I may be one of the last people on earth that NEEDS to write things down (and then cross them out) on paper vs. typing info into my "smart" phone(even though I have a new phone and a super cool little stylus to poke the screen with..hey,it is the little things for me)
I suppose I could choose to switch over to "smart" skills...but, I choose NOT to. As Bobby Brown once sang..."It's my Perogative" (and don't hate me if you sing that song today.) Three cheers for all of you that rely on your phone...Personally, I just have visions of me once accidently throwing my phone away, into a empty trash can that had water in the bottom...
the only GREAT memory about that is that Tim tried so so hard to be my super hero and save the phone....thanks buddy, I appreciate your trash can diving skills to this day...even though the phone ultimatly died.
Anyways...my 2011 Day-timer only goes to July so I COMPLETELY relish in the day that I "GET" to go purchase my new calendar inserts (I know...just hold your comments!). Last week I had not purchased my inserts when I realized that I was hitting the road, so I bought a little "purse sized" calendar from Wal-Mart for like $4.94 that has become my go-to-handy-dandy-journal-doodle-calendar and I am highly suggesting that YOU go get one...oh, and treat yourself to a few new felt tip pens while you are in the office supply/stationary aisle and tuck it into your bag.
This is a great example of RANDOM CREATIVE...Use it for notes....for ideas...as a journal...heck..use it as a calendar (duh) but use it...and enjoy it. It may just be the best $4.94 you spend!
No need to thank me...it is my pleasure!

ha ha ha thanks for the smile and the yes this is me but i don't use my pocket calendar but now if nothing else i am gonna doodle all over it!!!!

Oh I am sooo one of those! I MUST write things down and I DO have a smart phone which I am TRYING to rely on, but it all boils down to the writing in the end for me! I am a doodler too, so I often get comments about my artsy lists! I guess it is just how we roll! ;)

I am like you... I don't trust digital planning. I am so afraid that some little hard drive will conk out and all my lists, calendars & contacts will disappear in a pouf of smoke! I'm so looking forward to purchasing my new planner, too! I love getting the new one every August and copying down all the dates and special events.

I'd rather have "It's My Perogative" stuck in my head than "John-Jacob-Jinglehimer Schmitt" which is what was stuck in my head last night & this morning from reading it in a book just before I fell asleep.
I thank you, truly, from the bottom my heart for a switch in the song in my brain!!!

I 'm with you I like to write a list. I just bought my first fancy "SMART" phone and I guess I need it but I still need my paper list!

What is it about day-timers?! I used to have one with my last (paid!) job 12 years ago and I still miss it. So tempted to go buy one but I keep everything on my computer calendar synced with my ipod. It's just makes more sense but, oh! how I miss paper and pens!

I had a blackberrry calendar, a Franklin Planner (in which I just bought in June; it was too big, and now, I have a simple, black lined to do list, big calendar and I LOVE it and I even added your joyful quote at the TO DO for this list! But, I am so much of a writing person with a IPhone; and I am feeling GREAT about it and this post just cemented it in my little head and heart!!! Thank you, oh, my pleasure ... TOO!! :)

I'm a list keeper too. I have a "to do" app on my tablet but can't use it despite trying. I need paper and a pen! And everything I do needs a list. Nothing like planned spontaneity! ;) Love your daily list! Just awesome.

Thank you for these daily "divine" inspiried thoughts!
I check in every morning to be reminded that God IS big enough for whatever it is, and that others struggle with the same things I do. You have such a great way of expressing it all - Bless You! I know God smiles when He reads these!!
