I am working on a bunch of kits and projects to sell at a local boutique coming up in a few weeks and as I create, I find myself really thinking more about what I am doing and most importantly, why.
I have a hard time creating things that do not have a real purpose and as I stamped my simple little Christmas tree on muslin this morning, it dawned on me that this tree reflects our lives these days.
When I first designed this stamp a few years ago, I did not pay to much attention to anything but the details. Trunk, branches, tree stand, a few ornaments and of course a star...but now, a few years later, as I have been "cultivating" and being more intentional, I see so much more.
I would LOVE to know what you see...What do you "see" when you look at the little yet strong tree???
EDITED ...I love reading your comments...I honestly did not see the cross until now!!!

Where do you get your muslin?

Stephanie, I am with you.
I want to create meaningful art in all I do.
I hear you.. I get that.. I do.
What do I see?
I see a simple scrawny tree, beautiful in its own way. I see strength. A tree that decided to grow anyway, even though it didn't fit in with all the other fuller, bigger trees. xo

It started at the cross! The Cross at the foot of the tree is what is holding it together and keeping the tree strong! Just like us! I love how Christ uses pictures to make a point to us!
Awesome stamp, how I have to go buy it!
BYW - i love your work!
Thanks!

I see that it is simple and it is shining its BIG OL' STAR brightly and proudly.

First thought was...It's Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree!! (I didn't see the cross either...but so cool!) Then, I thought you need to make it into some thing...like a picture or pillow or an ornament....why?
Because I am always the mom who wants to buy the ugliest tree at the lot. The skinniest, bare limbed one...my kids hate it but, I always think of Chuck Brown and how every tree needs a home at Christmas. With the right love, attention, and decor every tree is a gift of beauty.

At first I saw a very simple rustic tree.... and then I looked again and saw the cross. Beautiful.
So what are you going to do with these very pretty little pieces of muslin?

I saw that I needed to run over to the Purple Onion site and buy your stamps! Love them all and let Michele know that when I ordered. Can't wait for the new ones to land on my doorstep. xo

I see the first Christmas seasons of a young married couple (me and my husband of 31 yrs)...who could only afford to buy a tree permit and tromp into the forest and try to find the perfect tree...funny how it always ended up being 'perfect' no matter how it looked :)
