When I was in 6th grade I was voted "Most School Spirit" so now with my own kids in school, when they show their school spirit I feel like a proud momma bird....except for when Jack asked me yesterday if I would buy him new red Vans for spirit day. (Each class wears a specific color, sophmores are "red")
"Um...noooo" was my response because first, Vans are like $35.00ish dollars and he would never wear red Vans...except for on spirit day and secondly, because Jack has way too many shoes for one pair of feet so the next question he asked me was "Can I spray paint my white vans, red???" and this momma bird could have flown around the globe with pride....after I masked off the white walls...
Apparently my creative "Use What You Have" skills are rubbing off....
UPDATE: Jack woke up at 5:00am to get to the pool, took a look at the shoes and decided he did not want to wear them.....apparently he is even more like me...(think of something, make it and then set it aside)

I have to laugh - I was gonna say "Doodle on the shoes!" and someone else did.. LOL!!! I think he should've worn them but I also have 3 boys so I know what they're like :)

That's a teenager for ya, never completely pleased with the finished product. It is cool that he is wanting to show school spirit. Cool pictures too!

This is really showing some great school spirit! I was the spirit coordinator for my school and it was so fun being able to show all the school spirit I had and participating in everything! Can you tell me where I can find more stories like this? Thanks!
