This week I did something completely different than I ever have with my Documented Faith email.
Actually, I did TWO things. First, I printed the email out on a sheet of regular paper and one on card-stock. I loosely trimmed around the card-stock image leaving a straight edge on the left side so that I could use wash tape on it and add it to my journal as a "tip in"
Then I grabbed a few basic supplies and got to work in my art journal.
Here is what I used:
- glue stick
- paper mate black felt tip pen
- Signo white ink pen
- 3-4 sheets of colored paper. I used one of my FLOW books for the colored paper
I cut out the phrase part leaving the doodled on the paper:
For the next step, I forgot to take one picture before I did the next so try and follow me.
I adhered the phrase onto a TEAL paper (that's the picture I forgot to take)
Then using a celery color paper, I rough cut (edges NOT measured or straight AT ALL) a thin piece to create a frame to go around the phrase and adored that onto the top edges of my phrase. Really, it would have been much simpler to just adhere the phrase to the celery, trim leaving a thin edge and then adhere onto the teal.
Then using scissors, I again ROUGHLY cut scallops on the teal paper all the way around.
I started adding little details using my Signo White Pigment pen and a Papermate black felt tip pen and should have just left it alone when I thought I was done..but no, thought I'd add just a little more to the lettering and this was the result:
