This January, Saddleback is kicking off a new series called TRANSFORMED and Pastor Rick along with Dr. Amen & Dr. Hyman are releasing a new book called "The Daniel Plan." I am so blessed to be working with an amazing group of women leaders from all of the Saddleback campus' to share this series with women. As the details emerge on my part, I will be sharing here so that you can follow along. Something important to understand about this entire journey is that the Daniel Plan is not just a "diet". It is a LIFESTYLE and the series TRANSFORMED teaches along side it at the same time. I am ready. How about you?
As we have been working, creating and planning for the release of this study, I learned that the title of it was TRANSFORMED, I instantly new that TRANSFORM was my word for 2014....but not just for 2014 because in order to transform, it is going to take time.
NO..correction, it has been taking time. I have been working on this in all areas of my life and I wanted to share a few things here...starting with self-doubt. I have decided to share because a blog reader left a comment that they were surprised to hear that I have it after I posted this picture yesterday
The thing is, we all do, no matter who we are, what we do or where we are.
Here is a page from my journal from a few years back during the Soul Restoration class with Brave Girls:
This is a huge share for me because you are going to read some things on this page that may surprise you. There are things I have not talked about and have kept private but part of the transform process is to share my story and encourage you to start thinking about sharing yours. As 2014 approaches, I will be working my story into the TRANSFORMED series and with it will come healing for me and may open up the opportunity of healing for you.
Self-Doubt comes from many things. I "have" it and "do it" alot. I constantly have to remind myself to address it as it appears. I am THRILLED to exclaim that it doesn't surface or appear as much as it used to, but time and again, it creeps in quietly, almost stealth like and sometimes races in like a fiery dart.
I just finished reading, for the second time, "The Gift's of Imperfection"by Brene Brown and it has helped me tremendously. I HIGHLY SUGGEST that everyone grab a copy. I have highlighted more the second time than when I read it the first time. The book is jammed packed with reminders and each time as I sat to read through it, my bible was right next to it because really, the bible is the Instruction Manual.
Now, I know not everyone reading this right now is going to just go grab their bible and sit a read. Everyone reading here is in a different place BUT in order to transform/change, you have to make a decision and a plan. Here is one of my key verses that helps remind me that I CAN do this: and you can too!
I am hoping that as 2014 comes, you decided that you are ready and that maybe you will consider taking this journey with me. Let's put on our armour, our equipment, our pads and helmets and tackle the issues together as a community. Remember, we must love one another, we are better together and we can make a change.
