by letting the decoupage dry and then letting the paint dry and then letting the puffy paint dry...
so that I can go onto creating the next page and the next page and the next page until it gets filled up and will burst at the seams with happy...
Today, practice patience so that you can burst open with happy.

Remember "the tree" stamped on muslin? Well, I used my Light Olive Green, Goldenrod, Cinnamon Toast markers and a random bottle of red glittered stickles that I had to live'n it up a bit....then I used a little Helmar Decoupage and adhered it to a slightly smaller piece of chipboard, dried it, punched a hole in it, added some twine-jute-whatever it is and set it aside.
Then I grabbed one of my "I have too many jars" jar, filled it up with buttons (because I have toooo many of those as well) and set that aside.
Then I grabbed my big bag of "stuffing", a scrap of muslin and the ball jar "ring" part of the lid. I placed a ball of stuffing on the counter (visualize this) placed the piece of muslin over the ball of stuffing and then I placed the bar jar "ring" part of the lid over that....then I flipped it over, place the lid circle piece into the top (with the muslin ends hanging out) and I GENTLY tugged and pulled to get it just right....
then I trimmed the excess muslin edges and I screwed the lid onto the jar, poked a few pins in the puff, finished it off with a strip of fabric tied around the outside of the lid...and fell in love...
Now, you may not have 457,000 extra buttons lying around, and honestly, it would be weird to give someone a jar of buttons as a gift..but wouldn't be soooo cute to create a little sewing kit in the jar?? some thread, floss, needles, pins, little pair of scissors....
so cute, just sayin...plus my mom saw it last night and said that she thinks it is the cutest thing she has ever seen! (she has said that before..it is just an expression us mom's use when our kids make something!)

I am 99.9% done with the TWO projects for my return visit to Groves in July...and there are so many things we are going to be doing..it is going to take TWO sessions to get 'er done...
that was my impression of a redneck!
Oh..Speaking of Rednecks...did you see the HILLARIOUS video on Liz's blog...HOLY COW..life with that Collin, I mean Cletus, has got to be a hoot! I might have to go watch the video again...okay, just watched it...too much...
okay, so anyway...I believe Grove's is going to list the class in the next day or two but you can call the store anyways and let them know you are coming....
have I mentioned that I LOVE Pennsylvania.....dreaming of the possibility of having a farm there, where we farm..create...stitch..farm..garden/crop......hey..a girl can dream...and you never know...dreams do come true, duh!

Don't shoot the messenger, but this is a reminder that June is the 1/2 way mark to Christmas and 1/2 way to 2012....come on, you know how I am by now!
and through the ups and downs, ins and out, backs and fourths, I have continued to work on my WORD of the year....CULTIVATE. How about you?

Don't fret if you have lost focus, I do it all the time...the great thing is, all you have to do is re-focus! That is it.

Now, I don't want to stress you out, but June does mean that summer is upon us, school is almost out and it is time to start cultivating holiday projects! You know me, as soon as it is the 4th of July and the weather heats up, it is time to starting playing the Christmas CD's....Fah La La La Lahhhh....
Since being home from Art-Full Horizons, I have spent each day cultivating, sortting, rearranging, organizing and revamping the ol' shead-teau because I have to make space to do some new things....yikes!
and of course, doing a little stitching in-between this, that and the other to relax a bit...
I am looking forward to another 1/2 of year with YOU and all that this creative life and journey brings...

I have been crazily kitting away for this weekend and have had to hold myself back from pulling the sewing machine out, about 100 times, or so. I have to say, THAT is an achievement for me, you know..staying on task.
I "pre-ordered" Alisa Burkes new book coming out this summer and it seemed to calm my need to stitch, kinda...
okay, so I must confess, even though I stayed on tasked with the urge to sew, I completely fell off the wagon with something else...
As I was helping Ben build the Great Wall of China out of styrofoam, I remembered Alisa talking about making stamps with a wood burning tool.. so I thought I would try it, you know..because we were already messing around with styrofoam....I did not want to waste it (thanks to Tracie).
so... I tried it...and..
I made stamps and stamps and more stamps. (these are COMPLELTY different from rubber stamps...so don't be confused or worried) These are for paint..and ink...and fabric...and felt...oh gosh (insert squeel)

Yikes...and yippee....I am excited to let you know that I will be back at Grove's in Pennsylvania JULY 29-30 for a "12 Days of Christmas"in July class (details to follow soon) and I will be incorporating some of these techniques, as well as a sprinkling of Prima..some felt...buttons...stitch..Helmar...who knows!!!!
Okay, I need to pull myself back onto the wagon and get on the road to Art-Full Horizons...

Home is good and I am glad to be here, but am already missing all of my Inspired Friends!
My mind is jam packed and over stimylated with inspiration, ideas and thoughts therefore, I do not have a whole lot of words to post quite yet...nor pictures because I did not take any. Luckily, for Facebook (what did we ever do with out it?) the event and the fun, funny and good Helmar times have been tagged there, like this one of me and Ma Shuck...

Really, how will you ever know if something is going to work unless you take a risk and, gulp, try it...so, that is what I did with the Helmar Crackle Medium 1 & 2.
Yesterday, I was struck "in the middle of who knows what" to create something, and then as I worked through my project, I thought..."oh, I saw Crackle #1 and Crackle #2 in that box from Helmar"...so...I tried it, and not only did I like it, I LOVED it...correction I LOVE it.
Now, of course, I want to show you the entire finished piece, but I can't just yet. I am such a JERK! sorry, but it will be worth the wait!
