Q & A
Q: Do I have to know how to sew or stitch to take the workshop?
A: NO. I show you a very simple stitch to create all of the panels shown. If you do not want to stitch, you can easily use white glue instead of stitches.
Q: What if I do not have any Sizzix dies and a Big Shot Machine to cut out all of the patterns?
A: There are patterns for everything except for the words: peace, hope and joy, gingerbread and the holy and berry. You can either hand cut similar pieces, consider purchasing the dies or use similar products that you do have to create something similar. Example: if you do not have the JOY die but you do have an alphabet die set, simply cut out the letters J-O-Y and use those. If you do not have the “Three Trees” steel rule die, simply cut three triangles in different sizes and colors and three small rectangles for the tree base. If you do not have the Gingerbread steel rule die consider tracing a cookie cutter that is the shape of a gingerbread man.
A: You can use any type of felt or fabric to create the panels shown in the workshop. I love the look and feel of wool felt. There are many quilting and crafting stores that carry wool felt as well as tons of online options. I do carry a small assortment of wool felt bundles listed in my ETSY shop and quantities are very limited. To see the selections, visit my shop here.
Again, as in all of my classes whether they are online or in person, never ever feel that you have to use the same colors, supplies, measurements or patterns that I use or provide. Be inspired by what I have done and challenge yourself to create something similar using what you have! My hope is to inspire you to create things using your hands.
