Remember the good ol' "train of thought"column from Homegrown Hospitality (R.I.P).. on how one thing in my mind leads to another?
Well, it happened again yesterday and it is a dang good thing I get up early, because this "train" came early..and it was a freight train! (and now that I think about it, that dang freight train always seems to come when I am getting ready to go out of town!)
anyways...
As I was going over my packed supplies for Inspired (again) finishing up my baking for my students (because I could NOT show up without chocolate chip cookies, duh!), getting the boys laundry done for the week, and working on my "The Sketchbook Project 2012"...
I decided to sew a last minute apron to take because all of the ladies running from class to class ALWAYS have such super cute aprons on..
and when I was done with that, I got another idea that I could use one of the new stamps as a stitch pattern...well, here look at this first:
Stamp image onto regular ol' computer paper.
Lay out a piece of muslin cotton on a flat surface, place a piece of "embroidery tracing paper" down and set your stamped image on top.
Using a thing (I know it has a name but it is 3:29am) and use a lot of pressure and trace around image so that it transfers onto fabric. (p.s.it did NOT work very well for me, but I think it was the surface that I was doing it on)
Use three strands of embroidery floss and stitch around the entire image (if I knew how to make french knots, I would add them to the little dots that are on the scalloped frame!)
Not quite done yet, but you get the idea..and speaking of ideas, just looking at this photo gave me a few more ideas, so you never know what exactly will come out of this...
Happy Creating...Happy Monday...!
