Last year John said to me, "Hey, maybe we can go there for our Anniversary" as we watched the "Bed & Breakfast" episode in season 3 of HGtv's, Fixer Upper. I remember saying something like "Sure...us and the rest of the world..."
Fast forward to January when I was in between surgery one and surgery two and in a prescription drug fog.
I received an email (with the rest of the nation generated from Magnolia because I had registered for the newsletter mailing list) that the new Magnolia House was open for reservations. I opened the email about 40 minutes AFTER it was sent out and when I clicked on the link, it went nowhere. I thought I had somehow clicked it wrong so I clicked it again. (little did I know, the Magnolia site had crashed, probably a few times.) Anyways, when I had clicked again, the registration page popped up and I put in our anniversary date and wouldn't ya know...it was available.
of course it was.
I booked it Dano (I had to say that.)
Now here is the thing, I wanted it to be a surprise so I could NOT SAY A THING!
It was only January and our anniversary wasn't until June and that is when I got an idea based on one of my "Dream Big Dreams" that I doodled out in 2012:
My thought was that maybe I could find a place to teach while I was in Waco and that way I could "justify" bringing my family with me (as if I had to justify something. UGH) Anyways, I decided right then and there how I was going to reveal the surprise..and now I had it in me to find somewhere to teach.
I had contacted the customer service at The Silos but that was not something that they had a designated space for so I just left the thought alone and had decided/remembered or just basically given my own self permission to take a trip without working when God dropped an idea in my head. It was one of those moments when you remember where you were right when it happened. (That is what I refer to as light bulb moments) and I said it out lout to John...
"What If I could teach a workshop at The Magnolia House" while we are there !?!?
(p.s. I had already revealed the surprise to my husband, sister, brother-in-law and my mom and dad that we were all going together)
To be continued....
