Last Saturday I kicked off the weekend with an adventure.
Mountain Bike Riding with the Trail Angels. They are a rad group of women that ride. You should check'em out.
Saturday was the "beginnner" monthly ride and I was one of about 12 or so..except I was the only one who had NEVER gone on a ride.YES, I know how to ride a bike..but this was a "RIDE" and gratefully, we started with prayer before we hit the trail.
I borrowed a bike, borrowed a helmet and hit the trail with my gal pals, Regina & Amy and the Trail Angels.
LONG story short, on the way down, took a left when I should have gone straight and pretty much ate crap, no not pretty much, totally did, but jumped up as fast as I went down and kept going. We all agreed that had I had a Go-Pro on my helmet I would have won the grand prize on America's Funniest Home Videos. I also can identify shrubs by taste now.I'm fine, scabs are just about gone and bruises are, well..evidence of an adventure. Good times, I say...even though later that day I texted Regina to make sure that it was normal to feel like I had been hit by a bus.
Put it this way, I was at the end of the pack, in front of Regina who was my sweeper the whole ride, called myself the "Trail Snail" but NEVER gave up.
Tomorrow marks a week since riding and well, tomorrow brings a new adventure! See you on Sunday to share!
