I am not sure if it was on FB, Instagram or here (or all three) that I exclaimed that I was soooo excited to head to Florida to teach the first of my Miscellany classes, but just as I was feeling excited to meet new people, excited to see my friend Jill and her family and really excited to teach new classes that I was feeling super confident about...those dang/damn gremlins, goblin, fiery darts, ___________ whatever you want to call them came on stronger than they ever have. EVER.
Early Friday morning while walking on this beautiful beach with Jill, I realized that because I was on my way to something good, something creative, based around my faith and something part of my purpose, the yuck started to surround me. When you open yourself up, sometimes that makes the enemy REALLY frustrated..and dang, he will try to blind side you.
duh....YOU gotta PUSH (pray until something happens)
The best part of that entire terrible day experience was the amazing feeling of how good it was to have pushed through...like a marathon, hands in the air, running through the finish line feeling.
Miscellany was good, so good...good in the best deep down creative way. Just the way I hoped it would be. The best way I can explain it is that we start with a seed
and end up with a full bloom.
and as corny as it may or may not sound, so was my heart. In full bloom. That was when I knew why I had started to fall apart out prior to departing.
Thank you so so much Jill and the girls at Whim So Doodle for always welcoming and
loving me. I love my visits to Florida and always leave ready to return!
More on Miscellany....
I will be teaching Miscellany 1&2 at Right At Home Scrapbooking in Boston to kick off the new year and dates will be releasing soon so that you can add the classes to your Christmas list!
I will be teaching it at Art Is You in Sept. 2014 in Petaluma (sign-ups for classes start in January on their site)
and I would LOVE to teach near you. Keep an eye on the upper right side-bar for new dates added soon...and hey, if you have a group of friends that want to create and you want to have a home workshop, email me at homegrown1(at)att(dot)net.
At this point, I am really up in the air on whether or not I will be doing my Miscellany online because I feel it is so important (and needed) to get out and create one on one and in class settings with YOU. While my part of my purpose is to teach creative things and new techniques, it is more my purpose to connect, create and remind and while it can sorta be done online, it is just so important to gather and create out and about...we will see what the future holds..
and speaking of future..I have new things coming soon.
eek.
Love to you....S.
