It is not that I am a bad blogger but rather that I have been bad about blogging. So sorry for the lack of posts and thank you for your patience. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram than you are a little more up to speed on my bouncing around but in case you are not a follower or a friend (THAT sounds TERRIBLE, but you know what I mean) then here is a closer look at my focus of this year, which is to TRANSFORM: We kicked off the New Year with friends (who are also part of my small group and a key to Transforming) and we had a blast. (Personally, I prefer to ring in the new year on East Coast time but am working on changing my early to bed habit, a little, well, at least on New Year's Eve)
My first class of the year after a two month break started with Sue Allemand in La Jolla, CA with Art at the Beach and my mom and friend Lisa came with me. This was an amazing day and completely reignited my love for teaching and gathering with creative souls to create art:
I am aggressively working on Transforming my spiritual life by developing the habit of a daily quiet time. I have incorporated the Daniel Plan with Transformed and mixed it in with the The Documented Life Project and it is really filling me.
Speaking of aggressively working at something, I am also working pretty darned hard at transforming my physical life and working towards a more healthy body by creating the habit of working out with friends. This habit is starting to fill me with confidence and something more than just muscles on my arms...(or seeing my long arms flailing around in the mirror during workout!)
I am also transforming my art in a few ways. I share all the time that my talent is a gift from God and part of my purpose is teach, share and inspire. I am starting to flap my creative wings by experimenting and playing with different color combinations and I am learning a little about myself during the process. I used to limit myself to just core colors and by allowing myself to play has started to open up new avenues in teaching.
p.s. my handpainted original papers will be availbe in my ETSY shop next week!
Speaking of teaching, last week I was in Boston (in between huge storms)
and taught three classes at [email protected] Scrapbooking. The trip was awesome and the ladies who braved the cold to come and create were just as great! We doodled, colored, painted, tore, created and laughed our way through each day and I am hoping to be returning there in the fall. In a few weeks I head up to Northern California to teach three classes at the Work of Heart Studio. To see where I am headed, make sure to check out the list on the right sidebar. (p.s. new announcements coming soon, too!)
Lastly, for at least this blog post, is a little more love about the Documented Life Project, which by now you know, I love. In addition to my daily "blah, blah, blah" that I jot down, I have been adding in a few photos here and there including the weekly inspiration word from my 2014 "52 PickMEup" online class.
as well as a little doodle here and there
My journal has become the meeting place for all of the things I have been working towards, transforming and creating and each day I find myself looking forward to adding to it.
to be continued...
