I am working on more creative things than I ever have and at the same time, I am in the midst of downsizing and thinning out my supplies because I HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF. I filled up the recycle bin again this week with stuff and I can hear the hum of the trash truck on the next street as I type this. (this is going to make my dumpster diving friends fussy) I am working on trying (or is it trying to work) just with what I need for a specific project which is hard when I may be working on 4-5 projects at any given time (key word - TRYING)
The one thing I have learned that works best for me with my creative process is that less is more. I become very overwhelmed and over stimulated with too many options, choices and decisions and that does not coincide with my word, TRANSFORM..
Speaking of simplifng stream-lining and my creative process, I am from the "Garanimal" generation and I find that when everything coordinates, it is an easy win win. For the past several years, I have been working/creating with greys, browns, creams and my "signature" red heart. I have heard over and over that it is easy to spot something that I have done because of that heart.
Now, the heart has remained the same but you may have noticed that I have been incorporating what appears to be a rainbow of colors into my palette.
Truth be told, I am not a unicorns, rainbow and Candy land color type of girl and although I am still not so sure about purple, well, as you can see below, I am becoming an equal opportunity color user!I am welcoming many more colors into my work whether it be paper, fabric or thread and I am excited to show you lots of exciting and creative things using lots of color in the coming months.
Oh gosh, I think I am evolving and transforming
