This is going to be a pinball post because I am going to really bounce from one topic to another which is really how life has been around here lately, well, at least in my head.
Sizzix
I just turned in my 2016 designs, finished packaging for my upcoming 2015 Summer release, am getting set to film 5 videos and create a class for the Sizzix University Class at the Ellison/Sizzix Headquarters (save the date,,Monday, June 15)
Here is the thing about ALL of my releases regardless of when they are released. All of my designs coordinate with one another and are meant to be used together. I don't want stores to bring in the lines or the consumers to buy the products, use them a few times and then neatly place them on the shelf while the next line gets ready to hit the market. All of my pieces are like building blocks and will work together and now that there are several pieces, it is time to really get the ideas, inspirations and classes out there.
It is like Garanimals where they mix and match...or like my wardrobe which primarily consists of white, black, grey and denim. Wow, splashly, huh?
Onto Bibles, Moleskine Journals and a little more about the how and why behind the process.
Most of you know about Shanna's Illustrated Faith, my Documented Faith and all of the Bible Journaling art that is sweeping the world (notice I am not calling it a trend) so I won't go into all of that (but feel free to click the links to read all about it) Just yesterday, after some "light bulb moments" BLOWING UP in my head, I wrote up and sent out the new workshop information based on Bible Journaling & Lettering. Shanna and the Illustrated Faith team have the amazing talent of creating in the margins using paint, paper, stickers, tape, stamps..etc. so I have developed a workshop based on the way I create in and out of the margins that do include a little bit of paper, a little bit of tape, a few stamps here and there, a lot of watercolors and a whole lot of hand lettering and writing.
The new workshop is called Bible Journaling & Lettering - Inside and Outside the Margins” and I am really excited to kick it off in Boston at Right@Home in just a few weeks and in June at WhimSoDoodle (they are updating and adding my classes this week so be sure to call the store for details and registration)
If you are interested in holding a workshop, please email me at homegrown1@att.net and put "WORKSHOPS" in the subject line. I will send you all of the information on what planning a workshop consists of and hopefully we can make a plan.
Okay, off to start this day. Have a GREAT one!
