Documented Faith Friday - Week 9

I am not sure if there will be a video this week because as you read this, I am in Kansas at the Whatever Craft House hosting the 1st Creative Soul Camp Retreat, eeek!  

It has been a dream in the making for a long time and I while I had my thoughts and ideas, I just could not see all of the details.

DUH.

We aren't going to and we are not supposed to. 

All we have to do is be obedient and the rest will fall right.into.place.

I am grateful to God for the gifts He has given me and for all of the amazing people He has put into my life that have taught, mentored, reminded and cheered me on as I was turning the dream into reality. As I near the end of my first Creative Soul Retreat, I am excited to announce the second Creative Soul Camp Retreat, October 4th - October 8th, 2017 at The Whatever Craft House.  All of the registration details can be found here.

We are in Week 9 for Documented Faith and our last week to focus on the word LOVE (although we should never lose focus on LOVE, duh!)

RoundTop TEXAS, Ye'haw!!

You guys....I am SUPER excited to invite you to a brand new event in Round Top Texas!!! I feel like I have been holding a secret for a long time!!!! 

Meg Duerksen, Tara Royer Steele & I are hosting The Gathering Retreat in Round Top, Texas May 10 – 13 and we would love for YOU to come & get creative with us, shop for all the great Texas “junk” and eat the best food!

The Gathering Retreat is all inclusive… meals, lodging & supplies for the creative workshops are included.

Meg, Tara & I each love bringing women together to celebrate their gifts. God has made all of us to create and made a million different ways to do it.
Using our creativity we can worship Him through painting, sewing, drawing, cooking, writing or photography – we can bring Him glory!
We know that it can often be hard to make time for yourself to be creative but we also know that we when make it a priority – we are filled up.
Our hope with this retreat is to remind you of the super fantasic, creative woman God made you to be and we want you to have a time away that is inspiring, relaxing and uplifting.

This retreat will be held at The Vintage Round Top and it is amaaaaazing! We get to stay here and be creative all day in this beautiful space and we are all sorta giddy about it!

You will spend lots of time in creative workshops with Meg & I because we enjoy working together so much! We promise many, MANY hours of  messy, colorful creating together! All your supplies for these workshops are included in your registration so all you need to do is show up!

Tara Royer Steele is going to make sure we are filled up with home cookin’ from morning till night and she is going to teach a pie baking class for us! 
There will be meals at the house but also get to visit Royer’s Pie Haven & Royer’s Round Top Cafe too. Would you just look at this menu?!!!  (And this is only about half of the options!) I can’t wait to try ALL the pie!!! (Be sure to bring your stretchy pants )

Meg loves to go junking, duh! So she is going to show us how..in Round Top no less!!! whaaaaaa????

IMPORTANT FACTS:

1. Registration is open right now!  Click here. 

– First payment of $250 is today.
This payment is non-refundable but will go towards your total registration cost.

– Second payment of $500 is due on March 15, 2017

– Third payment of $500 is due on April 15, 2017

2. The house sleeps 15 – many queen & king beds meaning most will have to share beds.

3. If you will be flying please fly into IAH airport – Houston, TX.

4. Airfare & travel expenses are not included but we will take you to/from the airport on 5/10 & 5/13 if you need it.

Headed to Paper Crown in Oklahoma City..

I am heading back to Paper Crown in Oklahoma City on March 17th  & 18th for a Mixed Media workshop on Friday night and then allllll dayyyyy Saturdayyyyy we are going to do collage stitching. I taught this new workshop, Mixed & Stitched, at Whim So Doodle for the first time a few weeks ago and I LOVE IT as much as the ladies did! We are going to be creating outside our comfort zone by not coordinating, not measuring and not really sewing.  We will be "stitching" and by that I mean we will use a needle and a thread to attach our pieces together but there is so much more to this workshop and you need to just trust me on this one.

Wooden Tag & Heart Workshop  Friday, March 17th, 6:00 pm -9:00pm

 

Mixed & Stitched Saturday, March 18th 10:00-4:00 **No stitching/sewing skills required!**

Love Is..

"Love is more important than anything else.  It is what ties everything together...."If that popped phrase popped out of a fortune cookie, many would read it, be encouraged by it, agree or disagree with it and might even believe it but here is the good news..the end of it reads: Colossians 3:14 CEV which means it comes from the Bible which also means it is true.  Love binds the virtues of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience TOGETHER.  We need to remember that we cannot do one without the other.

Documented Faith Week 6 - LOVE

If you are following along with Documented Faith then you know that there is one focus word per month along with verses for each week that coordinate with the verse.  You can get the weekly verses right here  and they are posted once a week, usually late Friday or Saturday morning.  

Each month of the year we also focus on a specific word. This month we are focusing on LOVE.

Here is the verse for week six : 

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.

Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”   

         1 John 4:7-8

God alone is the source of love and He uses us (His believers) to be conduits of His love to the world.  Because we have received God’s love, we are called to carry out that love into the world by loving one another. Are we doing that to the best of our ability?

I wrote out some practical ways we can love and included it in this weeks verse and message PDF. The image is in black and white so that you can add color to and insert in your Journaling Bible, DF Binder or in any sort of planner system.
